Troy grew up on a family farm in Iowa raising feeder hogs and showing registered Appaloosa horses. He moved to rural Udall, Kansas in 1980. Troy graduated from Udall High in 1983 and married his wife Karen, also from rural Udall, in 1986. Karen graduated from KSU with a degree in Social Work in 1987. Troy graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990 and they spent two years in Lyons, KS at a predominately large animal clinic. They have three children. Quinton is a Kansas State University Graduate with a degree in accounting and is employed by Intrust Bank. He is married to Becki who is a WSU graduate and is a pharmacy tech. Haylee is also a K-State Alumni and a third grade teacher in Wamego, KS. She is married to Andrew who is also a KSU graduate and is employed in banking. Nolan is a graduate of Southwestern College where he majored in accounting. He is employed by Koch. Troy enjoys attending K-State sporting events, fishing and spending time with his family.
